Alumite is a process that creates an anodized film on the aluminum surface. This is done to improve the corrosion resistance and wear resistance of aluminum, as well as to add decoration and other functions.

Functionality
- 1Untreated aluminum is prone to discoloration and corrosion on the surface, but alumite treatment can improve corrosion resistance.
- 2The hardness of aluminum is Hv20-150 (depending on the alloy), but when hard alumite treatment is applied, the hardness increases to Hv300-400.
- 3Metallic aluminum conducts electricity, but alumite film has insulating properties and therefore does not conduct electricity.
- 5By adsorbing dyes and pigments into the fine pores of the alumite film, it can be colored in a variety of colors.
